Last night he scored a goal on a real pretty shot pass from Holtz into the crease front that saw Nemec split the 2 defenders there with his stick almost right into the goalie's feet and he directed that pass into the net. He has centered the puck from behind the net. I have seen him right beside a forward on rush heading down the slot looking for a pass or rebound. Lately he has kicked up the offensive mindset to a different level. Other times that "shot" is actually a tape to tape pass to someone either in that net front congestion or off to the side of a post. He manages to get his shot on net through net front congestion. He does not have an outstanding shot by any means, but his shot is very accurate. He was shooting at the net from many different locations. He was also battling in the corner and sometimes behind the net. You could find him at the top of the circle on both sides of the ice as the puck and his mates moved around the attacking zone. He moved around the offensive zone, not just staying stationary at his point or just a simple pinch. When he returned from the Worlds, he had a different attitude about his offensive game. Sometimes he didn't get there and required somebody else to pick him up until he was back in position. However, this found him caught up ice more than he should have been, but he most often caught up to the rush from behind and made a positive impact. He often brough the puck off the point and was found behind the net. Up to the World Juniors Nemec was definitely concentrating on playing defense and making the first pass to get the Comets going the other way. I love Bratt amd think he is an elite player, but I cheer for the Devils and if he wants 9 mil or more ,I would move on from him. It would not be because I don’t like him as a player. If he wants 9 mil or more, I’m sorry but he has to be traded then. Only reason I can think of is if the Devils are low balling the shit out of him.

I don’t get why Bratt and or his agent would be squeeze the Devils so hard. All while gettig to play with his buddy Nico or Jack and surrounded by young elite players…. Then there is the fact that the Devils are rhe youngest team in the league with one of the best prospect pools in the league, all while being tied for 2nd best team in the entire league. Plus, what dollar amount woild he need to make up for the extra year the Devils could offer that no other team can via UFA ? I’m not saying that I expect Bratt to shave millions off of a fair price, but at least acknowledge the commitment rhe Devils made. ĭevils drafted and developed the kid ,you woild think that would somewhat taken into consideration from Bratts side. There are multiple comparable‘s out there, it shouldn’t be rocket science to get a ballpark number. Unless Fitz has made unfair offers (something like 7 or under per ) then I don’t get what Bratt or his agent is thinking. Of course I’d prefer 8 but if only agrees to a 4 year, so be it. Like say 8x 8 mil, nit sure what an equivalent 4/5 year deal would be per, but offer him deals ranging from 4-8 years.

I have no idea how to adjust dollar amount for each UFA year. Make several options for him (different lengths ) at the most you are willing to pay for each length. When does Fitz make Bratt a “take it or leave it “ offer?
